how to be savvy on Black Friday and my picks

So Black Friday - it's on lads. I try and use it for useful purposes, which I'm going to explain in this post for ya, as well as show you a few of my favourite pieces! I've also strewn a few little shoppable banners throughout the post so go wild!

Hover over the above edit to shop, or see the widgets throughout the post.

1. Only buy what you would full price
It's entirely not a bargain if you wouldn't have thought about purchasing it in the first place. Think carefully before you impulse buy and make sure you'll get your wear out of it. I like to see if it would go with at least four outfits before I purchase.

2. Use it for Christmas presents!
Black Friday is great for treating yourself, but also fab for sorting those Christmas presents (fairly) early! I always buy for my sisters, as well as my Mum as they're pretty hard to buy for full price and it's nicer to be able to get a bit more for your money!

3. It's great to get furniture/bigger items you've been saving for
Perfect if you've just moved etc, but with retailers such as MADE offering discounts - why wait?! Items such as furniture don't often get reduced as they're not seasonal so consider buying whilst the discount is high.

4. See if any luxury items on your wishlist are reduced
Again, make sure you wanted it in the first place but BF is a great time to make that big purchase you've been saving for. A new handbag, or a pair of shoes might have a couple of hundred pounds off, which is a huge saving for anyone!

the glossier hype

Glossier
Openly admitting, I'm the first to dive headfirst onto any kind of looming bandwagon. Yes, I bloody love to know what everyone's talking about and have my own opinion on it. So, naturally when I was in NYC in September I HAD to get my mitts on some Glossier products. $90 later, and I think I can pipe up and tell you my thoughts. You are *so* welcome for the 2948745th Glossier post you've read today.

Ok, so what do I not like?
I'm going to straight up say that I didn't like the Generation G lipstick. I got it in the shade 'cake' and to be honest, it's so transparent and sheer it just feels like a shitty lip balm. This might just be due to the colour of my lips etc, but I'm definitely more of a matte kind of girl. I'm also going to hold my hands hella high and say that I don't like the Stretch Concealer. I'm trying to like it, but it's not for me. Firstly, these bags need industrial strength - which this is not. Secondly, ya girl is pretty lazy and this requires some effort. A) it creases and doesn't stay where you put it. It's fairly sticky and unless you set with powder (which ruins the 'no make up' vibe?) then it's pretty pants. B) it's too bloody sheer. I  know it's supposed to be for those flawless gals who get 8 hours sleep a night and maybe I'm just not one of them, but sadly it's just sunk to the bottom of my make up bag to be forgotten about.

Pity party over, here's what I LOVE:
Straight up, obsessed with the Priming Moisuriser. Not only can I skip a step in my make up routine (lazy, see) but also it's the perfect viscosity for me - even though I have drier skin. My make up sits perfectly on top (I've been using IT cosmetics CC cream lately) and it just feels like my skin is loving it. I really want to try the heavier version during the colder months too.
I'm also pretty smack bang in love with the balm dotcom. I picked up the coconut one and it's fab. I put it on every morning when doing my make up, and it's like an older, wiser sister to Vaseline. It knows not to be so sticky and gross, and not to smell like a nappy and it's just good at it's job.
My new favourite thing is the Milky Cleanser. Like, get out and buy yourself one. I'm notoriously bad at skincare, but this just feels like I want to do it. I genuinely wake up the next morning with baby soft skin - it's so non abrasive and gentle, I just feel like all it does is what it says - bloody clean your skin and put all the nastiness of London in the bin at the end of the day. 10/10 recommend, and conveniently my three favourite things come in the Phase 1 set together.
Lastly, my never leastly - bloody Boy Brow. OB-SESSED. I didn't care for it the first time I used it, but combined with Anastasia Brow Wiz (medium brown for me FYI) it's amazing. I can get naturally bushy, full brows that don't look plastered on and perfect within an inch of their life. I also feel it gives the Brow Wiz a bit more staying power too - literally the dream combo. Go and get it already.

As with everyone ever, use this link (or http://bff.glossier.com/gIB5A) to get 10% off your purchase, and I'll get a cheeky reward too. Win win.

ouai haircare

Ouai Ouai
OUAI texturising spray and wave spray

Hi all, sorry I've been a little MIA of late - uni is super hectic and this weather makes me want to hibernate on my days off, not prance around on a street in heels somewhere. I'll be getting back to it ASAP of course.

Anyway, today I thought I'd give you a little run through of some of the Ouai products that I picked up whilst in LA/Vegas a few months ago.
I'd really fancied trying them (mainly due to kinda loving the Kardashians) and when I saw them literally being placed on the shelves in Sephora I couldn't resist. I picked up both the wave spray and texturising hair spray, both of which I've come to love.

So, firstly the wave spray: I've got the most limp and straight hair ever so I was hoping this would give the worlds laziest girl a little skip in her step. I use it on my wet hair and either quickly rough dry or leave to air dry and I must say that it does give me some waves. Not super cool Cali waves, but some kind of movement which is something I'm all about. It doesn't leave my hair crispy like some of my other beloved Bumble products do, and you pretty much can't remember you've used it - aside from the occasional waft of it's delightful smell. Overall a total win, and a complete yes from me.

Secondly (and lastly), the texturising hair spray. This ones a bit of an odd one for me, as the limp hair probs rise again. This is a like a dry shampoo/hair spray hybrid and works best to give my hair a bit of texture and oomph when I've just washed it. I tend to never go more than every other day without washing my hair, so it's never mega greasy but I don't think I'd reach for this as a dry shampoo as it's a teeny bit heavy in the hair. Not uncomfortable, but you know when you're aware it's there?
Either way, it's great for what it says it actually does - giving your hair a little bit of texture, and works in my fine hair for pre-styling (or after) to give it a bit more of a matte texture as well as a little bit of life/lift. Overall a yes, as I'd totally repurchase.

So yes, that's my two cents on a couple of Ouai products. I've not done a beauty review for yonks, how did I do? Will you try any of them?

new in: bluebella lingerie

Bluebella lingerie Bluebella lingerie Bluebella lingerie Bluebella lingerie Bluebella lingerie
Blake bra and briefs and Luna bra and briefs*

If you know me, you'll know I'm a total lingerie fiend (seriously, it's getting ridiculous) so when Bluebella got in touch asking if I'd like a few pieces, there wasn't a millimetre of my body that could have possibly declined, so after much consideration I picked out the Luna and Blake sets to feel fancy over, and aren't they pretty?
They're cut out and 'sexy' without being OTT and are perfectly suited to my less-than-ample chest so I'm happy. I particularly like that my Mum approved these pictures as 'artsy' so therefore I don't care what anyone else says, my Mumma said they're artsy. That, and they look better on than laid over last months Vogue next to a couple of cacti.

Bluebella have kindly given me a 20% discount to offer you guys if you fancied either set, just follow this link or enter 'GLAMERAMO20' and the discount will  be applied at the checkout.

Go on, have a field day.

what's in my handbag/review: small chloe faye

small chloe faye in black

Being the bag of the season, and with the fact I (being one of many) happen to own it, I've had a million questions on what I can fit inside my Faye and how big it is etc so I thought the easiest way to get that across would be to pull it all together in a video, given that's something I apparently do now.

I'm planning on buying either an A.P.C half moon bag or the Mansur Gabriel bucket bag soon, obviously as well as my new Céline Trio so hopefully this can become a bit of a thing and someone might find it useful!
In the meantime, you can watch the video below!

new in: céline trio

Céline Trio Céline Trio Céline Trio Céline Trio Céline Trio Céline Trio
céline trio in black

Ooh, I did it again. After lusting for little Céline friend for quite a while, I finally decided I'd probably earned it so I ventured down to Mount St and picked up the large Trio in black.
I was really split between this and the Chloé Faye a few months ago, and decided that seeing as the Faye was a bit more 'seasonal' I'd go for that and then buy the Céline when I'd saved up enough again. I had no idea there would only been a few months between both purchases, but it comes in perfect time as I've really battered my Chloé and she's definitely in need of a rest!

I had originally gone in with the intention of buying the smaller sized Trio, but given that there's only £90 between the two sizes and the larger of the two looked so much better on it seemed the obvious choice. I've never been one for blowing thousands on clothes/shoes/coats etc as I really do wear and sell things quicker than you can imagine, but I see a bag as a real investment buy. Shoes are coming next, seeing as I'm starting to value things more and trade up buying more of a low quality with less of great quality (Acne Jensens, I'm looking at ya).

I see the Trio as a 'forever' bag, and it's one of the first things I've bought with money I've earned rather than saved from birthdays etc, so it really is a bit of an achievement! I've already set my sights on the vertical Cabas for my next big purchase - albeit in a while though as James and I decided to go back to America the day after I bought it... oops!

new in: nude tones

Nudes Nudes Nudes Nudes
h&m top, uniqlo x lemaire body and h&m shoes

I was actually mid-Instagram photo taking when I figured that I never post little snippets like this on my blog so thought it about time I broaden my horizons. Or something like that.

A few years ago I'd have laughed if you'd told me I'd live in trainers, culottes and a colour that isn't black but here I am. I've been unintentionally getting all matchy matchy of late and can't seem to stop myself picking up these warm nude tones.

So, what do you think, nude or nah? Given that I can't pull off the Kim K type nudes, I think I'm pretty sold on this variety tbh.

ACNE adriana in metallic silver via voo store

Well here they are! You can't spend an unjust amount of money and not dedicate a blog post to them, can you?
I saw these little shiny babies in Voo Store whilst in Berlin... in the sale... with a further 20% off... when they're still full price on the Acne website? Uh, yeah. I was actually after the white pair as I'm not often into garish footwear but hey, when they're that much of steal you really can't say no.
I've only worn them once (a few posts back!) and they were relatively comfy. Like, if they cost me £10 I'd say they were uncomfortable, but I'm sure they'll wear in. I hope!

What do you think? I'm really making a conscious effort to buy staples at the moment, even if they are a little bit pricey, so that I can collate a basic wardrobe that will last me years. So far so good!
P.S excuse the creased bedsheets...

nyc: lingerie haul

NYC lingerie haul NYC lingerie haul NYC lingerie haul NYC lingerie haul NYC lingerie haul
chantilly lace bra, the date brathe date racerback bra and the knickers

Seeing as it's Valentine's Day, and I spent a whopping three hours in Victoria's Secret while in NYC it seemed totes appropriate to do a little mini haul for ya.

I've never been wild on VS, mainly because I think it's in my nature to run from over-hyped things that 14 year old girls love, but when I went in last week my Mum and I went a little h-a-m. Their Valentine-ish 'Very Sexy' range was to die for, with the black lace body of dreams in. But given that I'm a real lazy dresser, I couldn't warrant $90 for something I'd rarely wear.
That being said, I'm a lingerie freak and had to stop myself buying six bras as my underwear drawer is overflowing. I totally justified this little spend as I don't own anything halterneck, and nothing padded/something that stops me looking like a boy so I think that's enough justification for anyone.

Finally, shoutout to Lola and Stephanie from Pink on Herald Square (I hope you're reading this!) as they were so fab and my Mum fell in love with them both. (She says you're still welcome to stay with her if you fancied...!)

So, what do you reckon, anything you'll be picking up? And of course, Happy Valentine's Day ladies!

new in: the chloe faye

Chloe Faye
small chloe faye in black

What do you know, someone else with the bag of the season. Or so I like to think.
I thought I'd share my recent purchase with you all formerly, as that kind of dollar deserves its own post.

After wanting the bag since I saw it on the catwalk over a year ago I finally tracked down one in stock (not without a three week wait though) and just bit the bullet and bought it. I was in-between this and the Céline trio, but seeing as this is a bit more seasonal I thought this should be a here and now thing, and the Céline could wait until next time I'm feeling frivolous.
I umme-d and ahh-ed between the two sizes, but given I have a bad back and should be minimising handbag weight, I opted for the smaller of the two. It is relatively tiny and just about fits the absolute essentials in, so I've had to give my Mum my Mulberry purse as if that's in it I can't fit my keys in *covers eyes* but aside from that, I can squeeze my uni pass, oyster card, a little mirror and a pen etc in so I guess we're fine. The things we do, eh.

Overall I'm smitten, and if you're considering one you should probably just do it. Although just a warning that the suede is so hard to keep clean and new looking, so invest in a good suede protector!

alexander wang diego in grey pebble

alexander wang diego in grey pebbled leather: £470

So, this is what I finally bought with my birthday money! Rewind nearly 5 months and I asked for your help (here), nearly all of you said the Mulberry, so that is what I started to save for. I very nearly bought it at Stansted airport, and then decided not to, thinking it would go into sale. In the meanwhile, I'd spotted this on the Selfridges website and fallen in love, but priced at £720, I wasn't really considering it. So, back to the Mulberry one, it didn't drop in sale, and I realised that I no longer loved it that much, and it definitely wasn't worth £1100, so I decided I wanted the Diego. Off I popped to check out the Selfriges sale... OH GOOD LORD IT'S IN THE SALE for £349! I grabbed my purse but it was sold out, so I literally got on the first train to London, also sold out. It was not available anywhere else, so I then (heartbrokenly) considered the black version, or the grey Rocco, although I wasn't crazy about either. Anyway, cut a long story short, this popped up on eBay two days later, brand new, obviously bought to sell on to make a profit - which is really annoying, but what can you do? Snapped straight up, and picked up the same day! So there you have it, the long winded story of my beautiful new bag. I thought I'd pop it into a little post on it's own as I think it deserved it, I hope you don't mind!
